Oil & Gas

Pic1Optilan systems are at work throughout the oil and gas industry worldwide – on pipelines, refineries and processing plant, wellheads, offshore rigs and floating platforms.

As Main Telecoms Contractors, the scopes of supply to which we work are wide-ranging - from pipeline and wellhead control systems to turnkey offshore and onshore security, telecommunications and entertainment systems.

The transmission system lies at the heart of virtually all Optilan oil and gas solutions. The primary transmission medium may be fibre, traditional VSAT or microwave radio based, or any combination of these.

Pic2This telecommunications spine integrates a number of subsystems, often 30 or more different communications and security devices. Devices range from telephony to meteorological systems, from PA systems to collision radar. Some subsystems (CCTV or LAN systems for example) may also themselves incorporate further communications networks.

Systems may be taken to FAT or shipping stage, or may be site installed and commissioned by Optilan. Indigenous companies may be used to undertake some installation work under Optilan’s supervision and local customer personnel can be trained in first and second line maintenance, supported by remote diagnostics, dedicated Helplines and next-flight response teams from Optilan's Customer Services Unit.

Pic3Operating in remote, challenging environments ranging from the Arctic Circle to the African Desert, Optilan telecommunications systems deliver the resilience, reliability, expandability and value for money that the oil and gas industry expects and demands.
