CCTV for Bradford
Optilan was contracted
by Mason Communications, on behalf of Bradford
Trident, to design, supply, install, and commission
a CCTV system for the Park Lane, Marshfields
and West Bowling areas of Bradford, and to upgrade
and support the associated CCTV Control Centre.
Creating this 21 camera system involved the
provision of::
- Civil Works duct extensions totaling over
3km
- Pole mounted cameras with Privacy Zone
blackout
- A fibre network to transmit video and telemetry
data to the new control room facility.
- Upgrading of existing Graphic User Interface
- Upgrading of existing Telecommand video matrix and
controller to accommodate the new cameras.
The environment into which
the new cameras were installed was one of
high traffic sensitivity, being mostly along
an arterial road. During our time
on site, the road was being extensively re-developed
to incorporate a
central two-lane Metro Bus system.
As a result, much of our work on site (both
civil works and installation activities) was
under close scrutiny from the Council Highways
and Health and Safety departments.
The project was successfully completed on time
and without disruption.
