Cabling and Civil Works
Optilan provides both single mode and multi-mode fibre cabling, together with copper, for telecommunications and security systems across town and city centres, over university campuses, alongside highways, railway track and the Canal network, and under roads and buildings as required by the project.
Optilan’s Field Engineering Force, the largest of its kind anywhere in the UK, is able to deploy multiple teams in order to complete tasks quickly, efficiently, and with minimum distruption to local businesses, their customers and their workforces. Our Health & Safety record is exceptional, and Optilan Engineers, fully trained though the company’s own training school in optical fibre fusion splicing, termination and test and copper jointing, are used to dealing sensitively and thoughtfully with the public, as well as in heritage environments.
Optilan undertakes Prime Contractor role including full Civil Works Project Management, from site surveys to duct and subduct laying, from CCTV camera pole mounting to directional drilling.
Responsible for the maintenance
and support of nationwide telecommunications
networks over infrastructures including the
National Grid and the Motorway Network, Optilan’s
Field Force provides full cabling maintenance
and support, from emergency call-out to tight
SLAs to routine maintenance, fibre audit and
