Optilan has installed a total of 440 kilometres of optical fibre cabling trackside, together with associated fibre splicing, termination and test, for Prime Contractor telent (formerly Marconi Communications)

.Optilan was also awarded a separate contract to provide splice bays, constructing
around 200 splice bays in all.

The contract ran for approximately 20 months, involving between 18 and 28 suitably skilled and qualified Optilan Engineers at work on site at any one time
