Telecoms networks are deployed in a wide range of environments including Urban Streetworks, Motorways, Waterways, Electricity Pylons, Sewers and a range of Rail Environments including Network Rail, Metro and Underground Networks.  Optilan’s experience of working in each of these environments is further described in the subheadings here.

The telecommunications industry works to strict Service Level Agreements demanding fast response times, rapid and complete restoration of services and minimum customer disruption.

Optilan’s ability to meet these demands is founded on our large in-house team of field and workshop technicians backed up by training and management staff who collectively have an unrivalled depth of experience in the building, testing and maintaining of communications networks throughout the telecommunications industry across the UK and overseas.

Our maintenance expertise extends from the core Fibre and Copper Infrastructure through to the Installation and Maintenance of Ethernet, IP, SDH and DWDM hardware. In addition to the provision of maintenance Services for our Customer's Networks we also provide Facilities Management in terms of both Preventative and Emergency Maintenance on a range of equipment such as UPS, Generators, Fire Suppression, Climate Control etc.

With respect ot Equipment Deployment and Network Rollour, our rack build and staging facility can deliver simultaneous builds of in excess of 200 equipment (IP, SDH, DWDM etc.) racks at any one time.  This, together with our Factory Acceptance Test facilities for customers’ hardware, helps ensure the timely delivery of large scale Network Deployment.
