Langage Power Station

Centrica Plc, the owner of British Gas, have invested £400m ($741m) to develop a new gas-fired power station situated in Langage, near Plymouth in Devon.
Centrica have commissioned Alstom Power Ltd to build and maintain the Langage Energy Centre and Optilan to provide the complete turnkey Communications Systems Integration including CCTV, Perimeter Intruder Detection, Public Address, Local Area Network and Mobile Radio Systems.
The design phase has begun with commissioning of all systems to be complete by Spring 2008.
The 885 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station is the first major Power Station construction in the UK for nearly five years and will be one of the most efficient stations of its kind providing electricity to more than one million homes.
