Design Engineer x 2 (India)

Scope of Role

• Produce design documentation in line with client requirements, regulations, and industry standards.
• Ensure design timescales are met and scope changes are identified.
• Ownership of design, procurement and testing of relevant sub-systems.
• Provide regular progress updates to Lead Design Engineers.
• Recognised company specialist for at least one sub-system.
• Ability to work on specialist sub-system(s) across multiple industries.

Accountable for:

• Provide timely, accurate and detailed design documentation.
• Ensure safety and sustainability of designs.
• Ability to read and understand customer specifications and relevant regulations.
• Liaising with customers and stakeholders.
• Peer review of design documentation.
• Attend design review meetings, IDCs & IDRs.
• Keep up-to-date with technology and best practise within specialist sub-systems.
• Liaise with colleagues on sub-system interfaces.
• Identify scope creep, savings, variations.
• BOM production, procurement, supplier liaison.
• On-site commissioning activities.
• Pre-FAT and FAT completion.
• Providing support to bid engineering team and site engineering team within identified specialisms.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Production and peer review of technical design documentation.
• Design experience within security, telecoms, electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience of working as part of a project delivery team.

Desirable:

• Holding relevant training and accreditations within applicable industry.
• Installation and commissioning experience within relevant industry or discipline.
• Experience within relevant industry: CNI, Rail, Oil & Gas, Energy.

Education & Qualifications

Essential:

• HND, HNC or apprenticeship qualified in relevant discipline.
• Proven training certification in relevant sub-system.
