Workshop Supervisor (UK) Warwick

Scope of Role

Project cabinet and equipment build against design drawings issued by the engineering department for the company.

The supervision of resources to meet delivery timescales required by the project team

Accountable for:

  • Determining workshop workload and timescales required to meet contract delivery dates.
  • Manage the workshop production and efficiency of the team to ensure all projects are completed within quoted and budgeted man hours.
  • Implementing process improvements within the workshop environment.
    Have an understanding of work in the pipeline to assist in forward production planning.
  • Review of handover pack with engineering team prior to build.
  • Displaying all workshop risk assessments and method statements and ensure they are being adhered to by all workforce.
  • Carrying out toolbox talks with the workforce on health, safety, quality or project-specific topics
  • Ensure all operatives are using the correct PPE in general and work specific tasks.
  • Re-stocking of consumable parts.
  • Inspection of cabinet build to ensure quality standards are upheld and project specifications are fulfilled.
  • Ability to complete cabinet build and wiring activities
  • Ongoing liaison with the project team on technical challenges.
  • Route card completion.
  • Red line mark-up completion.
  • Engineering assistance of Pre FAT and FAT activities.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience within a relevant industry.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Wire Person.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical and practical skills.
  • Proven supervisory or people management experience.
  • Ability to cascade information in a manner reflecting support for management decisions/policy.
  • The ability to manage a varied and complex workload.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building services.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications.
  • A practical, flexible and innovative approach to work.

Desirable:

  • Experience across more than 1 of our industry areas.

Education & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • 3 or more GCSE’s at grade 5 or above or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • Supervisory training.
