The objective of the overall project was to provide improved transport links between Nuneaton, Bedworth and Coventry. In support of this project Optilan were contracted to supply, install, test and commission (GRIP stage 6-8) Station Information and Surveillance Systems (SISS) to the new stations being built at Coventry Arena and Bermuda Park Station. This also includes the platform extension works at Bedworth Station. The Optilan scope of works involved the provision of new Customer Information System (CIS) displays - which provide automated visual “next train” and departure summary” information, automated long line public address, passenger help points and CCTV monitoring and recording equipment.
In support of this project Optilan supplied and installed:
- Telecoms Equipment Cabinets
- Long Line Public Address Systems
- CCTV Systems
- Customer Information Systems
- Passenger Help Point Systems
- Power and data cabling for Telecoms equipment
- UPS and battery back-up
Optilan have extensive workshop facilities at our headquarters in Coventry. This allowed the equipment racks to be assembled and wired up in a secure environment fully equipped and designed for the purpose. In addition this also enabled us to configure and test all equipment prior to its installation on site and ensure that all equipment is fully tested and configured prior to delivery at site. Our project engineers can arrange full Factory Acceptance Testing of new systems if required.
